New program for moms offered

Wall Recreation department begins new Mommy and Me Playtime

WALL TOWNSHIP — The recreation department is adding a new program to its already full slate of activities it offers during the winter months for township residents.

The department will begin its Mommy and Me Playtime program on Feb. 21 which will run on Tuesdays.

“It’s a totally new venture for us,” said Recreation Director Edward Grill.

The program aims to offer Wall Township moms and their children an open playtime. It is created for parents who want to spend quality time with their children while meeting and getting to know other moms in town.

“We had a couple moms approach us a few weeks ago about starting this kind of get-together,” said Mr. Grill.

It will be a time when moms can meet each other over breakfast or coffee, while their children play.

Moms are encouraged to bring two of their child’s favorite toys, said Mr. Grill.

Those interested in participating must register first. The registration form can be found online at www.wallnj.com.

The program will begin on Feb. 21 and will run every Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. It will be held in the Wall Township municipal building located on Allaire Road. On the first and third Tuesdays of the month, it will be held in the lower level center room and on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, it will be held in the community room.

There is no cost to participate.
