Halloween costume contest set in Wall

On Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m., the Wall Township Recreation Department will be holding a Halloween Contest and Party for township youngsters. The event will be held on the municipal baseball field at the municipal complex, 2700 Allaire Road.

The rain date is Thursday, Oct. 23.

Wall Township children ages preschool to fifth grade are eligible to enter the costume contest that will start promptly at 6 p.m., stated Wall Recreation Coordinator Ed Grill. Judging will begin with the preschoolers, followed by the kindergartners, and so forth.

Prizes will be awarded in each age group to the winners of each category. Members of the Red Oak Women's Club will assist with the judging.

There will be a bonfire, goodie bags for all children, and a hayride for everyone to enjoy, according to the recreation coordinator.

Mr. Grill said the recreation department is also looking for volunteers, ages 10 and older, to help scare people along the haunted hayride. Children under 15 years of age must have an adult present.

There is no fee to enter nor is registration required for the contest. Please call the recreation department at 732-449-8444 ext. 251 with any questions.
