Wall Rec announces programs

The Wall Recreation Department has announced that registration forms are now available for their new programs.


• Yoga and You is a six-week adult program beginning Monday, Sept. 15 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The fee is $55 for residents and $65 for non-residents.

• Yoga Tone is a six-week adult program beginning Monday, Sept. 15 from 7 to 8 p.m. Classes are held on Mondays or Thursdays. The fee is $45 for residents and $55 for non-residents.

• Ballet is a six-week program for children ages 3 to 5 beginning Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. The fee is $48 for residents and $58 for non-residents.

• Senior Yoga is a six-week program for senior citizens ages 55 and up beginning Thursday, Sept. 18 from 9 to 10 a.m. The fee is $5 for residents and $15 for non-residents.

• Challenger Soccer is a six-week program for special needs children in grades kindergarten through 8 beginning Sunday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to noon. The program is held on the Wall Soccer Club Munchkin Field. The fee is $25 per person.

• Fall Tennis is a six-week program for children and adults, ages 7 and up beginning Monday, Sept. 22. Adult classes will be on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children ages 7 to 10 will have classes on Wednesdays and Fridays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Children ages 11 to 14 will have classes on Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The fee is $70 for residents and $80 for non-residents.

• Sidewalk Seniors is a free walking program for senior citizens ages 55 and up held every Tuesday in the fall beginning Sept. 23 from 9 to 10 a.m. Seniors should meet at the Wall Township Municipal Building courtyard weather permitting.

• Martial Arts is an eight-week program for children ages 3 to 10 beginning Tuesday, Sept. 23. Beginner classes are held on Tuesdays for ages 3 to 5 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Advanced classes are held on Tuesdays for ages 3 to 5 from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. Classes for children ages 6 to 10 are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5 pm. The fee for children ages 3 to 5 is $65 for residents and $75 for non-residents. The fee for children ages 6 to 10 is $160 for residents and $170 for non-residents.

• Great Impressionism for Moms and Seniors is a two-week fine arts program held on Tuesday, Sept. 23 and Tuesday, Oct. 7 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The fee is $44 for residents and $54 for non-residents.

• Great Impressionism for Aspiring Young Artists is a four-week fine arts program for children in grades 1 through 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. Session one will run from Sept. 25 to Oct. 16 and Session two will run from Oct. 30 to Nov. 20. The fee is $88 for residents and $108 for non-residents.

• Body Sculpting is an eight-week adult program beginning Thursday, Sept. 25 from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. The fee is $65 for residents and $75 for non-residents.

• Tiny Tots Music is a six-week Mommy and Me program for children ages infants through five years old beginning Thursday, Sept. 25 from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. The fee is $49 for residents and $59 for non-residents.

• Women’s Self Defense is a six-week program beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The fee is $65 for residents and $75 for non-residents.

• Paint, Paste & Pour is an eight-week Mommy and Me art program for children ages 2 through 5 beginning Thursday, Oct. 2 or Friday, Oct. 3. Thursday classes are at 10 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., or 1:30 p.m. Friday classes are at 10 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. The fee is $80 for residents and $90 for non-residents.

• The annual Halloween Costume Contest will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 22 with a rain date of Thursday, Oct. 23. This event is open to Wall Township children in grades pre-kindergarten through grade 5. This year’s event will be held at 6 p.m. sharp on the Wall Municipal Baseball Field and will include an all new bonfire and Haunted Hayride. There is no fee or registration required.

• Registration forms are now available for the 2008-2009 season of Wall Recreation Basketball. This program is open to Wall Township children in grades 3 through 9. Ninth graders may now participate in the 7th/8th grade division. Practices will begin the week of Nov. 3 and games will begin Dec. 6. The fee is $60 for the first child and $50 for each additional child. A $10 discount applies to registrations received before Oct. 1. If anyone is interested in coaching or sponsoring a team, please contact the recreation department by Sept. 30.

• Wall Township’s first Mommy and Son Dinner Dance will be held on Friday, Nov. 14 from 6 to 10 p.m. This new and exciting event is open to children in grades kindergarten through 6 at Our House Banquet Facility in Farmingdale. The fee is $35 for Moms/Grandmoms and $25 for sons.

All classes are held on the lower level of the municipal building unless otherwise noted.
